We only use products safe for use around pets. However, there are still some safety steps to be taken before during and after a treatment.
Before the treatment: Pet bowls, bedding and toys should be cleared from the treatment area and any fish tanks and ponds covered.
During the treatment: Pets (and people) should be kept out of the treatment area.
After the treatment: Pets (and people) can re-enter the treatment area after the treatment has dried.
It’s not necessary to leave the house during a pest treatment (although it is sometimes easier). However, it is important that all people and pets are kept out of the treatment area during the treatment and until the treatment has dried.
Yes, bees can be affected by many pest control treatments as pest control products are insecticides and bees are of course insects.
However, the types of products we use and how we apply them means the chances that bees will even contact the treatment is very low and so bees are unlikely to be affected by a professional pest control treatment from Go Pest.
For example, we don’t spray flowering plants where bees are likely to land. Our outdoor spray treatments are applied to the outside of the building and other hard surfaces which are typically places bees to do land.
How long a pest control treatment lasts depends on the type of treatment, what products is used, where it is applied, the weather conditions and other conditions on site.
For example we offer a 3 month warranty with our general spray treatments, as that is the maximum amount of time the best products on the market will last when exposed to sun and rain. However, the same products may provide 6 months or more in protected locations such as under eaves or indoors.
It is also important to carry out any corrective actions suggested by the pest manager. For example, if there is lots of food left lying around or fat deposits on the grill and cooker, it makes it very attractive for pests such as cockroaches and pest treatments won’t last as long.
Spray treatments start working immediately and you will likely to start seeing dead and dying pests before we leave your house. Pests in their hiding spots during the treatment will pick up insecticide when they emerge and walk on the treated surfaces, so you will continue to see dead insects and spiders for a day or two after the treatment.
The treatment will then continue working for a number of months, as insects and spiders walk on the treated surfaces and pick up insecticide, keeping your home pest-free.
