Termite protection for new homes and renovations
For homeowners in Castlemaine, a pest treatment once a year is generally all that’s required to keep homes pest free.
Many homeowners combine their pest treatment with their annual termite inspection to save money on two separate services.
Go Pest can also set up regular service plans for businesses in Castlemaine to ensure they remain pest free and compliant with any regulatory requirements.
Termite inspections are a must for homeowners in Castlemaine. The chances of suffering from a termite attack is more than the chances of suffering from a fire or flood combined.
The termite inspection will let you know if termites are present on your property or even attacking your home. It will also let you know if there are any conditions around your home that may make a termite attack more likely.
Although annual termite inspections is the minimum action homeowners should take, it is always recommended that homeowners have a termite treatment to protect their home from potential termite attack.
If you are building a home or carrying out renovations you need to consider incorporating termite protection during the build. Indeed building regulations require it! Please give as a call at the planning stage.
As we have mentioned above, termites are the biggest threat to people’s homes, but there are a range of other pests that represent a threat to homes and businesses, particularly from a health point of view.
Spiders are a problem from spring through to Autumn – the annual “spider spray” will keep your family and pets safe.
The European wasp is also a problem in the warmer months, with nests reaching their maximum size in Autumn. At Go Pest we use professional products and wear protective clothing to ensure nests are destroyed safely.
During the cooler months rodents become a problem as they come inside looking for shelter. At Go Pest we will ensure complete elimination of your rodent problem whilst ensuring the safe use of rodenticides.
Castlemaine was “discovered” by European settlers in 1836, although it is the traditional land of the Dja Dja Warrung or Jaara people. It was originally called Forest Creek, before becoming Mount Alexander and finally Castlemaine in 1854.
Originally sheep farming dominated the area, but Castlemaine was to become one of the gold rush towns, with gold found in 1851 in Forest Creek. As the gold rush ended, other industries took over including woollen mills, breweries and iron foundries. The biggest employer today is the small goods company, KR Castlemaine.
Today, it is also a tourist attraction as a consequence of its gold rush history and has the oldest theatre in mainland Australia – the Theatre Royal, which was built in 1856.
