Safety - Our biggest priority

Safety

When carrying out any pest control or termite treatment, our highest priority is the safety of your family and pets, safety for our technicians, and safety for the environment.  Before we carry out any treatment, we make a controlled environment risk assessment to ensure we can carry out our services in the safest possible manner.

Go Pest will always discuss the pest control treatment with you before we begin the application.  This is to ensure you are aware of any specific instructions like keeping pets out of the treatment area during use, and whether particular access is required to some regions of your property.

Discussing the requirements also gives you an opportunity to ask any questions about the process, or to inform our pest control specialist about any issues they should know.  if you have any specific product requests or concerns, please let us know during this post-inspection discussion.

We implement unified pest management principles as part of our treatment philosophy, which utilises non-pesticide techniques.  This can include hygiene measures and home maintenance tips that will assist in the effectiveness of our pest control treatments.  It also minimises the use of insecticide.  As far as products go, we only use high-grade products registered by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA) that can be safely used around homes, businesses and rural properties.

Warranty

We use a range of products from a selection of leading manufacturers.  Our products come with a manufacturer’s warranty and we provide a 100% satisfaction guarantee with all our work.

Our pre-construction products from the HomeGuard system are backed by a $1 million, 25-year manufacturer’s warranty for both commercial and residential properties.  A number of the other termite and pest control products we use come with manufacturers warranties which cover structural damage to wood caused by termites after treatment if (for some unusual occurrence) the product fails.  (Conditions apply)

Pest Control Treatments

We provide service warranties on our pest control treatments.  This takes the form of a service free period, which means that if the specified pest returns during the warranty period, we will return and re-treat free of charge.  A three-month warranty on cockroaches, spiders, silverfish and internal ants applies.

Termite Treatments

Our termite treatments warranties vary depending on the procedure carried out and the products we use.  As an extensive range of products is used during the process of our treatments, we base our warranties on manufacturer guidelines.

Regular termite inspections need to be carried out as specified, and any conducive termite conditions on the property (as defined in Go Pest inspection reports) need to be remedied by the homeowner to maintain the warranty.

Termite & Pre-Purchase Inspections

When it comes to pre-purchase inspections, there is a lot of legal wording attached to the reports.  It is vital that the homeowner or purchaser knows the limitation of the termite inspection and that they do not provide a 100% guarantee that the property is free from termites.  An inspection report will offer a detailed insight into what was inspected and any areas that were not able to be examined.  if you require further information, please contact us today.

Insurance

All of our pest control and termite specialists are fully licensed and insured.  Our insurance includes the required Public Liability Insurance as well as Professional Indemnity Insurance to carry out pest control and termite work in Victoria.  Our insurance covers all aspects of termite management including:

We are more than happy to show you copies of our licenses and copy of insurance policy before any pest control work is carried out, as is within your rights.  It’s important to note that not all pest control “professionals” have the necessary licenses or insurance.  Simply having a license does not mean they are insured to carry out the work, and “pest control” does not include termite work as it must be mentioned explicitly on the license and insurance.

When we are out on the job, we know many things can go wrong.  From injuries we can sustain as a pest controller, to damage unintentionally caused to property or people.  Our professional indemnity insurance covers a range of things like the duty of care when performing our daily business activities.  This means you are protected, and we are too.

Accreditation/Licenses

Pest control industry Licensing is intended to protect consumers, pest control operators, the public and the environment from the damaging effects of pesticides.

Worksafe Victoria, the Victorian Department of Environment, Land, Water, and Planning (DELWP), the Victorian Department of Economic Development, Jobs, Transport and Resources, all manage different legislation to which pest control operators must comply.

Pest control licenses are subject to some conditions issued in writing with the license.  The best way to tell if your Pest Control Specialist is licensed to do the work is to ask for a copy of their license.  We are more than happy to show a copy of our license to let you know we are the right pest control specialist for your job.
